Following the monthly fagot sale conducted by the Moxham Group of the Memorial Baptist Church today, a luncheon and handkerchief shower was held in observance of the 81st birthday anniversary of Mrs. Susan Edwards of 109 Second Avenue, Westmont. Mrs. Edwards, born April 11, 1854, in Tontlottyn, South Wales, came to America in her early 20's. She is an active member of the Moxham group, participating in their numerous activities. The delightful luncheon, which was a complete surprise to the guest, was held in the private dining room of the social rooms of the church, the tables tastefully decorated with flowers and favors. She was the recipient of many beautiful handkerchiefs and appropriate birthday cards, her pleasing personality having endeared her to her many friends. In addition to the members of the group, three daughters of the honor guest were present. They are Mrs. Lawrence Berkey of 109 Second Avenue, with whom she makes her home; Mrs. Hiram Harris of 100 Venango Street, and Mrs. H. H. Sheffer of Lansing, Mich., who came here especially for the occasion. A family dinner party is planned for tonight at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Berkey, where Mrs. Margaret Price will attend in addition to members of the family.
About 40 physicians in Cambria, Somerset and Indiana Counties were present for the first of a series of six weekly clinics held at Memorial Hospital today under the auspices of the Cambria County Medical Society. The clinic lectures each week are to be given by a member of the staff of the School of Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh, today's speaker being Dr. W. H. Guy, who spole on dermitology. Today's sessions, including lectures both morning and afternoon and a luncheon at noon, where in charge of Dr. J. Walter Barr. A guest at the opening clinic session was Dr. Donald Guthrie, chief of staff of the Guthrie Clinic, Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. Dr. Guthrie is a past president of the Pennsylvania State Medical Society and it was during his term in office that the State society fostered the type of clinic being held now at Memorial Hospital. A dinner in honor of Dr. Guthrie will be held at the Fort Stanwix Hotel this evening.
Funeral services for Robert Wesley Slagle, 55, a native of Somerset County and a former resident of Johnstown, who died in Ashland, Ky., on Tuesday, will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning at the H. M. Picking mortuary, Somerset Street, Rev. Q. E. Bennett, pastor of the Moxham Christian Church, will be in charge of the services. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Born in Quemahoning Township, Somerset County, the deceased was a son of the late Christian and Martha Slagle. While in Johnstown, Mr. Slagle was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He left here to make his home in Ashland 11 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nanny (Barron) Slagle; [cut off here]

WEDS ROXBURY MAN
Miss Dorothy Stutzman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Stutzman of 223 Sell Street and George Uhl, son of Mrs. Barbara Uhl of Roxbury, were united in wedlock yesterday afternoon by Rev. Roy J. Meyer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. George Martin of Conemaugh had as her guests Miss Myrtle Reed of San Francisco, Cal.; Misses Blanche and Sibyl Clark of Cherrytree, Mrs. Mary Patchin, Mrs. Barney Wilmoth and Miss Martha Vera Wilmoth of Glen Campbell.

TO HOLD REUNION Committees Are Appointed for Fifth Annual Outing on August 11 The fifth annual reunion of the Parkstown school pupils, teachers, and friends will be held Sunday, August 11. This date was set last night at a meeting in the election house at Parkstown. William L. Freidhoff, the last teacher in the Parkstown school, which was consolidated four years ago with the Cover Hill school, is president of the Parkstown School Reunion Association. Other officers are William J. Sarlouis, vice president, and Miss O_eda Shirey, secretary and treasurer. The program at the reunion will start at 3 o'clock DST. The following committees are appointed: Program, officers of the association: Athletics, Walter Kohler, Catherine Senft, Anna Schellhammer, James Gauntner; grounds and parking, William J. Gauntner, Edward James, William Sarlouis, William Schellhammer, Eugene Blank, Robert Bolvia and John Teno; misc. and entertainment, Wallace Dick and Paul Teno; acquaintance, L. E. Hildebrand, Mrs. Edward Jones and Mrs. Richard Schellhammer. Refreshments and lunch will be available at the grounds. This part of the meeting will be charge of the Blue Belles of the 4-H Club of Cambria County. Families of some of the club members attended the school and the organization is using this method to obtain sufficient funds to finance an educational trip to State College next month. Miss Dorothy Blank, president of the Blue Belles, will be in charge of the refreshments. The girls also have volunteered to furnish the association with peanuts for a peanut scramble and prizes for the various games.
Boswell, July 27 -- Miss Orpha Griffith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Griffith, and Robert McCartney, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McCartney, both of Jerome, were married Thursday evening in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church here. Rev. Walter E. Lundberg officiated. Mrs. R. S. Replogle, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor and H. S. Replogle was best man. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride to immediate friends and relatives of the couple. Out-of-town guests present were Miss Gertrude Reese, Mrs. George Reese, and Eileen Reese, of Clarksburg, W. Va. Mrs. McCartney is a graduate of Ferndale High School and attended Pitt Junior College. Mr. and Mrs. McCartney will make their home in Grove City.

Outing Held at Oakland Manor Cottage; Anniversary Next Monday [27 Aug] NATIVE OF CONEMAUGH Mrs. Mary T. Gaus of 636 Center Street, one of the best-known residents of the Third Ward, who will observe the 80th anniversary on her birth next Monday, was entertained at a dinner and gathering Sunday at her summer cottage in Oakland Manor. Mrs. Gaus, a native of Conemaugh, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brindle. One of the oldest members of St. Joseph Catholic parish, she has taken an active part in church activities. She is reported to be in good health. Mrs. Gaus is the mother of 13 children, seven of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Catherine Weimer, Wilmerding; Mrs. Regina Studeny, Palliser Street; Christian Gaus, Center Street; Mrs. Agnes Stahl, Youngstown, O.; Miss Anna Gaus, Wilmerding; Carl Gaus, Oakmont Terrace, and Miss Helen Gaus, Center Street. She also has 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Miss Anna Brindle, a sister of the aged woman, served as hostess at the affair Sunday. Postmaster Frank J. Studeny, a son-in-law, was the master of ceremonies and presented the honored gust with a purse. Included on the program of entertainment was cards, bingo and horseshoe pitching. Billy Geisel, 13, of Oakland returned home last night from an enjoyable stay in camp on the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Bedford County. He brought with him the honor of catching the biggest fish of any boy in the Sunday School group which formed the camp, and one of the finest reported taken on the Raystown Branch recently. It measured 18 inches and tipped the scales at two and three-quarter pounds. That's a big fish for any small boy to land. Billy is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Quint Geisel.

New Castle, Pa. -- Federal agents who raided a cave reported seizing a 150-gallon still and arresting Francis C. Walter, 40, and his brother, James, 35.
Greenville, Pa. -- Lightning killed seven cows on the Sherman Lindsey farm near Hartstown. During the storm, a cow on Wendell Andrews' farm was killed.
Mercer, Pa. -- J. W. Ely of Mercer, head of the "white-collar" division on works-relief projects in Mercer County, was placed in charge of three more counties. He will serve in Butler, Lawrence and Beaver.
Windber, Aug. 5 -- Mrs. Natena (Buscaglia) Boburchak, aged 22, wife of John Boburchak, of 1907 Cambria Avenue, died suddenly last night at 11:30 o'clock in Windber Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon. Death was attributed to an acute heart condition. Mrs. Boburchak is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buscaglia, and these brothers and sisters: Guy, Carl, Muzia, John, Mary, Angeline, Josephine, and Ciara, all at home. The body has been prepared for burial by J. C. Kepko, local mortician, but arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.
Ligonier, Aug. 5 -- Walter Robb, aged 68, a well-known Fairfield Township farmer, died Saturday evening at his home after a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered last week. He is survived by his widow and two sons. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.
Ashville, Aug. 9 -- Valentine Muscovage, aged 70, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Spindley City, near nere, after an illness of two weeks of asthma. He was a son of John and Mary Muscovage and was born February 14, 1865, in Germany. He came to this country in 1890. His wife passed away in 1930. A son, stanley, was killed in France whileserving with the American forces.
Boswell, Aug. 5. -- George Hoke, aged 64, a resident of Boswell for many years, died Saturday evening at his home after a heart attack. His health had been impaired for the last eight months. He was born in Dauphin County. and was married in 1893 to Miss Sadie Horner. Surviving are his widow, his aged mother, Mrs. Joshua Hoke; an adopted daughter, Miss Emma Johnson; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Viola Campbell, Ward Hoke of Middletown and William Hoke of Friedens. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Horner Lutheran Church near Stoystown. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Less than 24 hours after his admission, suffering of a complication of diseases, Wasil Kasich, 44, a laborer for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company residing at 145 First Street, Conemaugh, died at Memorial Hospital at 12:40 a.m. today. He was born in Austria, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kasich. He is survived by his widow, the former Anna Sokac, and the following children: Mary, wife of james Lupeck of rear 117 Main Street, Franklin; Anna, wife of Michael Yakemick of 114 Coulter Alley, Conemaugh, and Helen, Susan, George, John, Irene, Dorothy and Charles, at home. A brother and two sisters in Austria also survive, in addition to three half-brothers, Charles, Michael and Samuel Kasich of Allentown. The deceased was a member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, Conemaugh, and the St. Nicholas and St. Mary societies connected with the church. Funeral services will be held at the church at 9 o'clock (EST) Thursday morning, in charge of Rev. John Fedak, pastor, with burial in the church cemetery in East Taylor Township. Carl E. Davis, Conemaugh, is the morician in charge.

David Humphreys, 81, pioneer steel worker and resident of Johnstown until 1895, died recently at Toledo, O. Burial was at Blairsville. Born in Wales in 1854, Mr. Humphreys came to America as a lad of 15 and located in Johnstown. He removed to Lorain in 1895. He was a pensioner of the National Tube Company at the time of his death and in recent years had resided in both Cleveland and Toledo. Six children, all residents of Ohio; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive him in addition to a sister, Mrs. I. O. Rowlands of Springboro, Pa.

Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Crouch of Park Avenue have returned to Johnstown after spending the last few days in Western cities. They visited relatives in Oklahoma City and also spent some time in Chicago. Mr. Couch, who is the local manager of Dun & Bradstreet, reports that corn crops throughout many sections of the West have literally been burned up by hot weather.

Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Blough Honored
By Relatives on Anniversary Holsopple, Sept. 12 -- Mr. and Mrs. Josiah J. Blough of Holsopple R. D. No. 1 were tendered a dinner Sunday evening at their home, the occasion being of their 51st wedding anniversary. Only members of the immediate family and relatives were present. After dinner a program of Music and dance was given. Guests present were Mrs. Harry Eash and sons, Frederick and Lloyd; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Holder and children, Jean, Mildred, Gladys, Dorothy and Stanley, of Kelso, Mt; and Mrs. Francis Sta_rook and children, Billy, Edna, Fern, Richard, Anna and Paul; Mrs. Annie Holsinger of Windber, Harvey Jones and children, Betty and Harvy, and Mrs. Clara Blough, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Himes and daughter, Rachel; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horner, Mr. and Mrs. harvey Gindesperger, Twila Jones, Erma Stayrook and Isabelle Horner; Messrs.
